NUMBO designs each piece in-house and manufactures it in our 4,500 m² Foshan facility, offering profiled casing in solid wood, MDF with veneer, and polyurethane. Our trim profiles range from clean modern reveals to classical ogee and egg-and-dart patterns — all precision-milled for tight joints and seamless runs.

How to Choose Window Casing & Trim

Window casing and trim selection involves profile style, material suitability, and proportional harmony with the architecture.

1. Match the Architectural Style

Modern interiors suit flat or minimal reveal profiles (10-20 mm width). Traditional interiors benefit from ogee, Roman ogee, or egg-and-dart profiles (40-80 mm width). Transitional spaces work with simplified classical profiles that bridge both aesthetics.

2. Choose the Material

Solid wood casing offers the finest detail and can be stained or painted. MDF with veneer provides a cost-effective painted finish. Polyurethane trim is moisture-resistant and ideal for bathrooms and exterior applications. All NUMBO trim is available primed and ready for final paint.

3. Consider the Proportions

Casing width should be proportional to window size. Standard residential windows use 50-75 mm casing. Large windows and doors suit 100-150 mm trim. Add a head casing (horizontal top piece) 25% wider than the side pieces for classical proportion.

4. Installation Details

Use a miter saw for 45-degree corner joints. Apply wood glue and finish nails at 150 mm intervals. Fill nail holes and sand before painting. For long runs, use scarf joints (angled cuts) instead of butt joints for invisible connections.

What profile options are available for window casing?

We offer 12 standard profiles ranging from 15 mm flat modern reveals to 100 mm classical ogee and egg-and-dart patterns. Custom profiles can be milled to match existing trim or architectural drawings through our Custom Program. Profile samples are available upon request.

Can NUMBO trim be used in moisture-prone areas?

Yes. For bathrooms, kitchens, and exterior applications, we recommend our polyurethane trim which is completely moisture-resistant. Solid wood trim can also be used if properly sealed with a moisture-resistant finish on all surfaces, including the back.

Do you supply trim in pre-finished options?

We offer factory-primed trim ready for final paint, as well as pre-stained and lacquered options in standard wood tones. Custom color matching is available through our Custom Program with a minimum order of 100 linear meters. Pre-finished trim reduces on-site painting time and ensures a more consistent finish.
